I’d love to win an Oscar – Adesua opens up in New Interview

Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi recently interviewed with her alma mater University of Wolverhampton‘s magazine WLV Life.

Adesua opened up about why she returned to Nigeria after her stay in the UK, what she finds rewarding about acting, and, ultimately, her goals.

Adesua described her experience, studying in the university, as life changing. She said:  “It is the foundation upon which my career has been built.

The actress had for a long time known she wanted to be in the arts, wanting to be become an actor but also wanting a course that would focus not only on the practical side of the arts, but also on the theoretical side, too.

On moving to Nigeria, Adesua said she had planned, when she left the UK, to stay only for 3 months.

But she arrived in Nigeria and fell in love with the budding film industry, and wanted to be known as one of the people who helped shape it.

Everything boils down to love, she said. Love for the arts, love for Nollywood, and love for Nigeria.

Adesua said her proudest achievement so far has been winning the Best Actress in a Drama award for the movie, “Falling,” at the 2016 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

Of course, like every other actor, Adesua would love to win an Oscar. “I would love the opportunity to put Nigeria and the UK on the map,” she said.

Waking up to a job she loves every single day is the most rewarding part of her job, she added. “It is a blessing because not many people get the privilege to do what they’re passionate about every day and get paid for it.”

TAGBO’S DEATH: DAVIDO’S MEN CONFESS

Thelast has not been heard of the controversy surrounding the death of Tagbo Umeike , friend to Nigerian pop star David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, as the other suspects who were detained by the police have given an insight into what  actually happened the night Tagbo died. Reports credited to the Lagos State Police Command had revealed that Tagbo had a night of heavy drinking and allegedly consumed about 40 shots of Tequila, a strong alcoholic beverage.  He was alleged to be in company of  his friends, including Davido, before his body was abandoned at Lagos Island General Hospital in the early hours of October 3.
