A young Kano-based young man has reportedly commited suicide barely a week after posting suicidal messages on social media. It was gathered that he had taken to his Instagram page a week earlier writing: "Ya Allah! Make the pain of death easy for us to bear. Expand & enlighten our graves & make our final abode close to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).'' He has now sadly passed away, and people who knew him have started posting condolence messages on social media.

TAGBO’S DEATH: DAVIDO’S MEN CONFESS

Thelast has not been heard of the controversy surrounding the death of Tagbo Umeike , friend to Nigerian pop star David Adeleke, popularly called Davido, as the other suspects who were detained by the police have given an insight into what  actually happened the night Tagbo died. Reports credited to the Lagos State Police Command had revealed that Tagbo had a night of heavy drinking and allegedly consumed about 40 shots of Tequila, a strong alcoholic beverage.  He was alleged to be in company of  his friends, including Davido, before his body was abandoned at Lagos Island General Hospital in the early hours of October 3. The news of his death was made known to the public following the outcry of Umeike’s girlfriend, Nollywood actress Caroline Danjuma, who accused Davido of abandoning his friend. Female Basketballer, Ekaterina Lisina Confirmed Holder of World's Longest Legs Record

A towering Russian model who overcame bullying to become an Olympic star, has officially set a new record for having the world’s longest women's legs.  Ekaterina Lisina, who stands at 6ft 9in, has two Guinness records to her name having also been crowned the world’s tallest model. The 29-year-old’s left leg measures 132.8 cm (52.2 in), while her right leg is 132.2 cm (52.0 in) long. She comes from a very tall family, with her brother measuring 6ft 6in, her father at 6ft 5in and her mother at 6ft 1in. The model says it “feels amazing” to become a Guinness World Records title holder and hopes it will increase the positive attention she gets day to day. Lisina overcame being bullied about her height as a teenager to achieve her dreams of becoming a professional model. Nigerian nurses, midwives to go on nationwide strike

The National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has issued a strike notice to the Nigerian government. The association urged the Federal Government to declare a state of emergency in the health sector to ensure a comprehensive resolution of all matters plaguing the sector. A statement on Monday by Aliyu Shehu, national publicity secretary, said such radical approach is “urgently needed to resolve issues in the health sector including administration, practice, headship, representation, benefits, and welfare of all stakeholders in the industry”. It warned that resolution of contentious issues with members of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) would open up a chain of industrial actions by other unions and associations in the health industry. NANNM said that the issues it presented to government predated those raised by NARD, which the Federal Ministries of Health and Labour ignored in spite of court judgments. UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and International Development Secretary Priti Patel, made this known at the unveiling ceremony of the new British High Commission on Thursday in Abuja. Johnson said that the new British High Commission, which is now located at Plot 1157 Diplomatic Drive, Central Business District, was expected to strengthen relationships with both countries. “It gives me a great pleasure to open this wonderful, new, super, colossal British High Commission in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja although some of our officials moved in six weeks ago. “It would further strengthen the British diplomatic ties with Nigeria. “The new British High Commission accommodates all of the UK Government Departments working in Abuja.
